IQE tree planting initiative
On a Friday afternoon in March, the Directors and staff of IQE braved treacherous terrain and torrential rain to plant 76 Manx native trees as part of a tree planting initiative to reduce the Company’s carbon footprint.
Under the watchful eye of Shaun Gelling, a Forestry Ranger for the Isle of Man Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, a group ventured to a remote hillside in Glen Rushen, near Foxdale in the Isle of Man. Although the conditions weren’t ideal (for the staff – the trees may have enjoyed it), everyone involved worked as a team to reach the goal, with a great sense of achievement outweighing any waterlogged clothes and shoes.
In addition to our support, via Carbon Footprint Ltd, of VCS certified clean energy projects in China and India, together with an already well managed environmentally-friendly use of supplies within the office, IQE is proud to announce that following the tree planting it is now a Carbon Negative company, and continues in its commitment to improve the local environment in the Isle of Man.
